SPIRITUALLY INTELLIGENT DESIGN: PHI AND VAASTU SHATRA
Ever since humanity first started to contemplate the geometric forms and their underlying meanings there are expansive philosophical, phychological and aesthetical cerebrations. Teir existence lays within the sacred art and architecture of Egypt, India, China, countries of Middle East, Americas and other ancient civilizations. It prevails in the monuments of the Gothic Middle Ages and Renaissance.
One may ask a simple question: "Why is that?" The answer is simple. The world around us appers to be best understood as arrangements of harmonious blueprint, or as geometric composition of FORM and PROPORTION. Our sense organs operate in response not to the underlying quantative differences but to the differences of geometrical or proportional nature. Our sight, hearing, touch and smell are a result of various proportioned relationships of the vast range of vibratory frequencies. The proportional state of each can be expressed as a sort of GEOMETRY OF PERCEPTION
Therefore the biggest debate arises. How our visual, auditory and haptic spaces defined by our five or more perceptual senses can be connected to pure, abstract metric or geometric and even more complicated phychological spaces. The practice of geometry helps us to investigate the issue and gives us an uique opportunity to learn the way in which the universe is ordered and sustained. As geometric diagrams could expose a continious, timeless, universal process hidden from our sensory perception. And mathematical study of geometry can reveal its intellectual and spiritual insight.
This website is a manifest of my meditation upon a metaphysical Unity, and then its practical architectural application by unfolding and symbolizing visually in architectural forms the pure, formal order which sources from this incomprehensible Oneness.
Below are few of numerous examples when the artists and architects drew their inspiration from nature. However it is debatable whether one can unveil the Golden Mean throughout all of Nature. But it can be said that wherever there is a compounded function or a harmonious beauty and proportion, there the Golden Mean will be revealed.
